Why a public benefit corporation
Our purpose is part of our structure.
As a public benefit corporation, Montgomery PBC is expected to balance the financial interests of its stockholders with the interests of people materially affected by its conduct and with the public benefit it pursues.
We chose this structure deliberately. The technologies we work on, governed AI and tools for deliberate choice, shape how much control people keep over their work and their lives. We want our commitment to that question to be built into the company, not left to good intentions.
